Sod Project, Conway, SC
Transforming a former landscaping bed into a centipede grass lawn, while also keeping the Crepe Myrtles.
We started off by first removing the initial layer of weed fabric and mulch(not shown). The weed fabric was thrown away and the old mulch was added to a different mulch bed.
We then had to grade the area so the sod would lay flat- this had to be done with a tiller rather than a bigger piece of equipment in order to keep the Crepe Myrtle roots healthy. We ended up removing 5+ yards of dirt out of the bed. During this process, we discovered there was a second layer of weed fabric, buried 6"-12" underneath the dirt which was also removed. All dirt was taken to the back of the property as per the owner's request.
After the grade was put on the bed, we simply laid down the sod and fertilized it.
