Extensive Rock Landscaping Project, Conway, SC

1"-2" Iron Mountain River Rock as a base, topped with 2"-5" White Virginia River Rock to add some more unique, bigger stones to the project- 3,800 square feet of coverage, Conway, SC. The client initially only wanted larger stones, but they came with a bigger price tag, so I suggested this hybrid option, which was accepted.

We first started by laying weed barrier fabric over the landscaping beds. This acts as a holder for the rock and ensures that it won't sink into the dirt over time. We then used a skid steer to grab bucket after bucket of stone, drop them in a wheelbarrow above the retaining wall, and spread them accordingly. Once the base layer of Iron Mountain was laid down, we threw out the White Virginia rock with our shovels and allowed the stones to settle randomly, allowing for a more natural look, with different sizes of rock scattered about.
